Bio
Artemis is a four-piece, all-women, alt-rock/post-punk band formed in Southampton UK, in February 2019. Drawn together by an extending passion for rock music, equal rights for women and an intention to leave an imprint on Rock ‘N’ Roll history. These creative young adults take influence from the likes of past and current troublemakers; The Runaways, Paramore, VUKOVI, Estrons, Dream Wife, etc.
Amongst the punk-quartet, lie the powerful and seducing lead vocals of Yianna Schultze, vibing with the perky riffs from guitarist, Frankie Linton, in addition to the catchy and punchy basslines of Hannah Abecassis which lock with the chaotic neutral drummer, Fenella Saunders.
The band is actively gigging in Southampton, London, kitchens and gardens, tearing the roof off of venues such as O2 Academy Islington, The Joiners, Heartbreakers and The 1865, with their first headline show in October 2019 at 93 Feet East, London. They are constantly writing new music as they go, giving adrenaline-seeking giggers plenty of material to jam to. They are also on the officially announced line-up to play Vesterbro Rock Fest in Copenhagen, Denmark in March 2021.
In February 2020, Artemis were contacted by HotVox and asked to compete in the quarter-finals for their 'New Blood' competition, fighting for a spot to play at Isle of Wight festival. The band were most recently featured as 'Artist of the day' on HotVox official site, following the opportunity to live-stream a gig at Cargo Rooms, London, and successfully smashed their fundraiser for musicians in the UK who were negatively impacted by COVID-19.
As relatively fresh faces to the music scene, their first recording process started in early July 2019, soon providing the world with their debut single ‘Hold Me Down’ being released in December 2019, alongside a music video to go with it. In the same month, Artemis recorded three more highly anticipated tracks at The Ranch Production House; the first of the three highly anticipated tracks was released early April 2020, starting with ‘Reckless (Moan for Me)’, the next being recently released, 'Kingdom', but are expecting to release more catchy and empowering tunes you will not forget by early 2021.

"Ballsy Girl/Punks, Bubble-gum Poppers, Girl/Grungers (insert or delete where necessary) ‘Artemis’ release the follow up to ‘Hold Me Down’ in the shape of “Reckless (Moan For Me)”. Artemis aren’t afraid to put in the hard yards, playing at all the stellar venues their hometown Southampton has to offer, as well as shows in the Capital."
